Boekeloo & Simmons Take Home NEAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

LATHAM, N.Y. – SUNY Cobkeskill’s Zackary Boekeloo and Wells College’s Shannon Simmons are this week’s North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) men’s and women’s swimming and diving weekly award winners.

Zackary Boekeloo (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) winning all three of his individual events by significant margins and leading the Fighting Tigers’ 200 Medley Relay to a win in the meets opening event as Cobleskill downed Delhi easily 145-78. Boekeloo won the 1000-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, and 100-yard butterfly by at least seven seconds.

Shannon Simmons (Holtsville, N.Y.) won the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events in a dual meet against NEAC foe Gallaudet for the Express. Simmons won the 100-yard back in 1:19.19 and the 200-yard back in 2:49.67. The senior also helped the Express take the win in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:20.49.
