Sealts, Cloutier Receive Second NEAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s and women’s swimming and diving for the week ending Nov. 11. This week’s awards go to two-time honorees from Gallaudet University and Wells College.

Ben Sealts (Ottawa, Ohio) from Gallaudet University has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Gallaudet won 10 of 11 events to defeat Wells, 115-47, over the weekend with Sealts winning three events. The Bison’s sophomore swimmer finished 30.97 seconds ahead of the competition to place first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.38. Sealts also finished first in the 100-yard butterfly and breaststroke with times of 56.85 and 1:04.82, respectively.

Courtney Cloutier (West Springfield, Mass.) from Wells College has been named the NEAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks after a team win at Gallaudet. Cloutier won three individual events as the Express topped the Bison, 115-65. The Wells senior won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:32.47 before a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:11.19. Cloutier wrapped up the event with a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.55 to finish 16.6 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer.
