Mallach, Pizzuto Earn Final NEAC Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Brittany Mallach and Bristol Pizzuto as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s soccer for the week ending Oct. 28. This week marks the final weekly awards of the 2018 season for women's soccer.

Brittany Mallach (Milton, Ontario) from Gallaudet University has been recognized as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week with a career game in the regular season finale. The Bison’s senior forward scored five goals and two assists on six shots in a 9-0 win over Trinity in non-conference play. Mallach’s standout performance came on Senior Day and she completes her career as the all-time leading scorer in program history.  

Bristol Pizzuto (Readington, N.J.) from Penn State Berks has been named NEAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season with a 2-0-0 record last week. The sophomore goalkeeper recorded four saves in a 1-0 non-conference win as the Nittany Lions handed the University of Scranton its first loss of the season. Pizzuto closed out the week with a combined shutout in a 2-0 victory at Penn College on Friday night.


The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has 12 NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, College of Saint Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University – Abington, Pennsylvania State University – Berks, SUNY Cobleskill, Morrisville State, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and Wells College. Associate members are: Cedar Crest College (W Swimming), D’Youville College (W Lacrosse), Hilbert College (M&W Lacrosse), Medaille College (M&W Lacrosse), Rutgers University – Camden (M Golf), and Wilson College (M Volleyball).
