NEAC Senior Spotlight: Tyler DiPatri, Penn State Abington

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Each week throughout the spring semester, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) will highlight a senior student-athlete from one of the conference's member institutions by asking each student-athlete to reflect on their collegiate career by sharing "A Letter to My Freshman Self." This week's letter comes from Penn State Abington's Tyler DiPatri.

Name: Tyler DiPatri
Sport(s): Baseball
Hometown: Pedricktown, N.J.

Dear Tyler,

Relax! Everything is going to be okay! Believe it or not, you are going to miss those 5:30 A.M. freezing morning practices, those morning lifts, and going to practice every single day. I want you to enjoy every single moment that you have on and off the field because you are going to miss it, a lot. I wish you wouldn't be so hard on yourself if you strike out or make an error in the field. Baseball is a game of failure, it's how you bounce back from that failure that makes you a great ball player. Just be happy! I know college can be stressful at times, but there will be much more stressful things that you will come across in your life. Continue to work as hard as you possibly can. That will be a much-needed skill you will have to use throughout your life when your playing days are over. One thing that I will miss most is those weekend conference games. Enjoy these because it will be some of the most fun and exciting times of your life! Just enjoy all of the moments you have on the field because you never know when your last at-bat will be.
