The NEAC announced the winners of the 2013-14 Presidents’ Cup during the conference’s annual retreat held in Spring Lake, N.J. this past Wednesday and Thursday, with Penn State Abington winning the overall cup for the first time in program history. This is also just the third time in the NEAC’s 10-year history that the overall cup winner didn’t also take home a gender-specific cup, as Keuka College claimed the Women’s Cup and SUNY Institute of Technology won the Men’s Cup.

The men’s soccer program from Wells College recently completed its fundraising efforts to benefit the family of Lauren Smith, a Cazenovia College women’s volleyball player. Her father, Mike Smith of Homer, N.Y., was a long-time soccer official in the Finger Lakes Region who passed away this past August. The NEAC has announced its scholar-athlete selections for the 2012-13 academic year. In order to be selected, a student-athlete must achieve a combined grade point average of 3.4 or higher for the fall and spring semesters and must have been in good standing on his or her team. This year, the NEAC is honoring a total of 515 scholar-athletes from its 16 member institutions (3 associate) who represent 26 different states and 14 different countries.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, Penn State Harrisburg senior Dorthea Dixon (Middletown, Pa.) became just the ninth women’s basketball player in NCAA history across all divisions to record an ultra-rare quadruple-double. The 5-foot-3 guard had the game of her life in the Lions’ 91-42 victory over Penn State Berks and totaled 11 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists and 10 steals.

SUNY Institute of Technology was the overall winner with 74 total earned points out of 101 total points giving them a percentage of 0.7327. NEAC Scholar Athletes for 2009-2010
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces the scholar-athlete selections for 2009-2010. A student-athlete must achieve a GPA of 3.4 or higher for the fall and spring semesters combined and must have been in good standing on his or her team. This year, we are honoring 276 scholar-athletes, from 14 US colleges, hailed from 13 states and 7 countries.

NCAA Accepts Penn State Harrisburg as a Member of Division III
Penn State Harrisburg has been formally accepted as an active NCAA Division III member effective Sept. 1, 2010. On July 20, the NCAA Division III Management Council accepted its Membership Committee’s recommendation that Penn State Harrisburg be granted active membership status.

SUNYIT's Twumasi and Facey Receive Arthur Ashe Sports Scholars Awards
SUNYIT junior Daniel Twumasi (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) and sophomore Nico Facey (New York, NY/George Westinghouse) of the men’s soccer team have both received the 2010 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars Award, which is presented by the publication Diverse: Issues in Higher Education to honor undergraduate student-athletes of color who excel in academics, athletics and community service.

Penn State Abington Hires Potash As Head Men's Basketball Coach
Penn State Abington announced that Chris Potash has been hired as its next men’s basketball coach. Potash has been an assistant coach at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia since 2008.

Gallaudet's Curtis Pride Appointed to President's Council For Fitness
Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius swore in Gallaudet University baseball coach Curtis Pride and 10 other members of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition on Wednesday at the W hotel in the nation's capital.

NEAC Provisional Members Advance If Approved
NEAC member Penn State Harrisburg and future member Lancaster Bible have been recommended for NCAA full membership by the NCAA DIII Membership Committee. Second year provisional member SUNY Cobleskill and first year provisional member Penn State Abington have been recommended for advancement to year 3 and 2 respectively.

SUNYIT Head Swimming Coach Sue Brumm Selected to Attend NCAA Women Coaches Academy
SUNYIT head men’s and women’s swimming coach Sue Brumm has been selected to attend the 2010 NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) this upcoming week. Brumm will be heading to Denver, CO from June 2-6 to attend the first of three five-day academies that will take place this year, with the second also being in June and the final session being held in December. There were only 25 coaches chosen to attend each summer session, with just 42 selections made for the academy in December.

SUNYIT's Golembiowski Selected to Participate on the USA D-3 All-Star Basketball Team Tour in Brazil
SUNYIT junior David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent) has been selected to participate on the USA D-3 All-Star Basketball Team Tour through Brazil this summer. Golembiowski, a D3Hoops preseason All-American, was chosen to the team due to his selection to the D3Hoops All-East Region Team this past March. The rest of his teammates will also consist of players that were All-Region selections throughout the country.

(BCANY) Upstate Coach of the Year, while senior Diloo Brown (Harlem, NY/Technical Careers Institute) and junior David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent) were named to the All-BCANY Division III Upstate Team.

SUNYIT Evens NEAC/NAC Championship Series with Game Two Victory but Fall Short in Decisive Contest; Castleton Advances to NCAA Tournament
The SUNYIT baseball team rallied from four runs down against Castleton State to win game two 7-6 and even the NEAC/NAC Championship series at one game apiece, but the Wildcats would then fall 19-7 in the decisive game three at the Larry Delutis Field in Rome, NY.

NEAC Spring Championships Second Weekend Results
SUNYIT baseball finishes the season with a perfect performance in the NEAC west divisional tournament advancing to the championship games to be played on May 7-8. In softball, Keuka won three straight to uphold their 20-0 regular season record and winning the championship to advance to the NCAA tournament. In tennis, SUNY Oneonta won the NAC championship while Castleton's women won the NEAC championship advancing to the NCAA tournament. Keuka's women's lacrosse defeated Husson to win the NAC championship while in men's lacrosse championship game will be played tomorrow.

CSE Lacrosse Player Melinda Levendusky Nationally Ranked
Levendusky averaged 16 goals against for games played through March 28, 2010. So far, she totaled 135 saves with only two games remaining, making her number nine in the NCAA for total saves. For individual game highs, she is number one.
