SUNYIT senior David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent) continued his sensational season by taking home three player of the week awards, as he earned his third NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season while also being named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Basketball Division III Upstate Player of the Week and to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week.
Golembiowski had a monster week to lead the Wildcats to a perfect 3-0 record, all of which were conference victories. In wins over SUNY Cobleskill, Penn State Abington and Penn State Berks, Golembiowski was the leading scorer and rebounder in all three contests and finished with three-game averages of 26.3 points, 16.3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block per contest while shooting 66 percent from the field. Additionally, the 6-foot-7 forward grabbed 17 rebounds in two of the three contests, which were both tied for his season high.
Golembiowski is currently ninth in the nation in double-doubles (12), 12th in points per game (23.3) and 17th in rebounds in per game (11.4), while being the team leader in points, rebounds, blocks and 3-pointers made. He also became the program’s all-time leader in career points earlier this season and already holds the program records for career rebounds, blocks and 3-pointers made.
