Prosinski, Thomas Earn NEAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Kayla Prosinski and Janelle Thomas its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s lacrosse for the week ending March 24.

Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) from SUNY Poly has been named NEAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a game-high nine points on seven goals and two assists in a 20-16 conference win at D’Youville. Earlier in the week, Prosinski also added three goals and an assist against Utica. The Wildcats’ junior midfielder totaled 10 goals, three assists, 15 ground balls, 11 draw controls and five caused turnovers in two games.

Janelle Thomas (Corning, N.Y.) from Keuka College has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week with one win in two appearances last week. The Wolves’ sophomore goalie allowed two goals and made three saves in one half of a lopsided win against Hollins. The next day against Southern Virginia, Thomas made eight saves in the second half to preserve a 14-11 win. She finished the week with six goals allowed and 11 saves.
