Merrill, Wolf Receive Third NEAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Megyan Merrill and Sam Wolf as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s volleyball for the week ending Oct. 28. This week marks the final weekly awards of the 2018 season for women's volleyball.

Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) from Morrisville State has been honored as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for the third time this season after posting three double-doubles on the week. The Mustangs’ junior outside hitter recorded 63 kills, 13 service aces and 42 digs with a .265 hitting percentage in a 4-0 week. Merrill was also awarded Tournament Most Valuable Player honors at the Skidmore Tournament over the weekend.   

Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) from Morrisville State has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 6.33 digs per set in a four-match week. Wolf picked up her third weekly award of the year after totaling 95 digs on the week, including a 33 digs in a five-set win over SUNY New Paltz. The Mustangs’ junior libero also added 17 assists and three service aces to close out the regular season.
