Lewis, Wolf Receive NEAC Women's Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Karita Lewis and Sam Wolf its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s volleyball for the week ending Oct. 14.

Karita Lewis (Frederick, Md.) from Gallaudet University has been honored as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week with 45 kills, 42 digs, six service aces, five blocks and two assists in 3-1 week. The sophomore middle hitter earned her second weekly award and first offensive honor of the season after beginning the week with three straight double-doubles. Lewis finished the week with 53.5 points and a .307 hitting percentage for the Bison.   

Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) from Morrisville State has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after setting a new school record. The Mustangs’ junior compiled 92 digs in four matches and averaged 7.08 digs per set in a 3-1 week. She also added one kill, 18 assists and eight aces. In Saturday’s five-set win over Rowan, Wolf became the first player in program history to collect 1,500 digs.
