McGuigan, Levesque Earn NEAC Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Emily McGuigan and Silvya Levesque as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s soccer for the week ending Oct. 7.

Emily McGuigan (Lusby, Md.) from Keuka College has been recognized as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week with eight points over the weekend. The Wolves’ junior forward scored four times in a 10-0 win over the College of Saint Elizabeth. She recorded a natural hat trick within a 16-minute span in the first half before adding her fourth goal in the final minute of play. McGuigan ranks third in the conference with 15 goals and 34 points.

Silvya Levesque (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) from Gallaudet University has been named NEAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bison defeat SUNY Poly for the first time in program history. After giving up the game’s first goal, the junior goalkeeper locked down the Wildcats for the final 55 minutes. Levesque came up with two big saves in the second half and totaled seven saves on the day to lift Gallaudet University to a 2-1 win.
