GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Josh Velez as its Student-Athlete of the Week selection in men’s cross country for the week ending Sept. 10.

Josh Velez (Lewistown, Pa.) from Penn College has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week after winning the Morrisville State College Invitational. The Wildcats’ sophomore won his first race of the season by navigating the 8K course in 28:07.2 to edge out the competition by two seconds. His first-place finish led a field of 117 runners that included competitors from nine NEAC teams and helped Penn College place second.
