Valverde, Perry Named NEAC Men's Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced Brenden Valverde and Dan Perry as its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in men’s soccer for the week ending Sept. 10.

Brenden Valverde (Birdsboro, Pa.) from Penn State Berks has been named NEAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Nittany Lions to a victory in a 1-1 week. Valverde had a hand in all five of the goals scored in a 5-3 victory over John Jay College on Sept. 9. The rookie forward scored four goals and picked up an assist with eight shots on goal to earn nine points on the week. Valverde leads the NEAC with five goals in the young season.

Dan Perry (London, England) from Wilson College has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week with a 1-0-1 record on the week. In a 1-1 tie at Muskingum, Perry made two saves and allowed one goal in 110 minutes. On Sept. 10, the sophomore goalkeeper made two saves in a 4-0 win at Bethany to earn his first shutout of the season. Perry finished the week with a 0.45 goals-against average and a .800 save percentage.
