North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections for 11-28-11

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball for the period ending November 27, 2011.


Brandon McMillan (Frederick, Md.) has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for his strong efforts for the Gallaudet University Bison.  Through three games last week, the senior guard posted averages of 13.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 67 percent from the field (14-for-21) and 77 percent from the free throw line (10-for-13).  His highlight of the week came in the Bison’s 86-56 victory over Christendom last Tuesday, where he went 8-for-10 from the field and 4-for-5 from the charity stripe to finish with a game-high 20 points in addition to two boards, two assists and two steals in just 23 minutes of action.



Daril Foose (Altoona, Pa.) has been selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for her outstanding all-around efforts for the Penn State Harrisburg Nittany Lions.  Foose had a monster game to lead the Lions to a 62-42 victory over conference rival Lancaster Bible College last Tuesday, registering game highs of 13 points, 17 rebounds (11 offensive) and six blocks in addition to a team-best four steals.  The junior forward went on to post 10 points and seven boards in a loss to Messiah on Saturday, finishing the week with two-game averages of 11.5 points, 12 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, 2.5 steals and 1 assist per game while shooting 41 percent from the field (9-for-22) and 71 percent from the free throw line (5-for-7).



The Rest of the Week’s Highlights: Keuka College junior guard Teddy Tuggles (Rochester, N.Y.) dropped 16 points in a 68-63 setback to Houghton College Tuesday and has reached double figures in scoring in all four of the Storm’s contests this season … Penn State Abington junior guard Trish Watson (Bensalem, Pa.) nailed six 3-pointers and finished with 34 points in 30 minutes off the bench during the Lions’ 73-64 loss to Philadelphia Biblical University last Tuesday…Keuka College sophomore guard Danielle Gravel (Sidney, N.Y.) scored a career-high 25 points to help the Storm defeat Hilbert College 79-48 last Tuesday…Gallaudet University sophomore guard Britny Latham (Cleveland, Tenn.) scored a game-high 21 points and led the Bison to their first win of the season during a 66-59 victory over D’Youville College yesterday.



The North Eastern Athletic Conference has thirteen NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, College of St. Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania State University - Abington, Pennsylvania State University - Berks, Pennsylvania State University -Harrisburg, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Institute of Technology, SUNY Morrisville State College, Wells College, and Wilson College.  Associate members are: Hilbert College (M Lacrosse), Medaille College (M&W Lacrosse) and Rutgers University - Camden (M Golf).  The North Eastern Athletic Conference has partnered with the North Atlantic Conference in the sports of baseball, women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s tennis.
