NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week for 02-14-11
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week selections for the week ending Sunday, February 13, 2011 in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball.
Terry Harrison (Brooklyn, NY) was selected as the NEAC
Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Harrison,
a 6’5” junior forward for the Wells College
Express, was selected for his strong offensive play
leading his team to a 2-1 week in conference play. Harrison
finished the week with 65 points (21.7/game), 36 rebounds
(12/game), 13 assists (4.3/game), 8 steals (2.6/game), 4 blocks
(1.3/game), 2-for-6 from three point range (0.333 percent),
24-for-52 from the foul line (0.462 percent) and 0.462 shooting
percentage. Harrison receives this award for the fourth time this
season.
Vanessa Whitfield (Chambersburg, PA) was selected as the
NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.
Whitfield, a 5'8" freshman forward for the Wilson
College Phoenix was selected for her strong offensive
performance leading her team to a 2-0 week in conference play.
She finished the week with 50 points (25/game), 40 rebounds
(20/game), 7 assists (3.5/game), 4 steals (2/game), 1 black
(0.5/game), 2-for-9 from three point range (0.222 percent),
14-for-21 from the foul line (0.667 percent) and 0.354 shooting
percentage. Whitfield is receiving this award for the first time
this season.
