NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week for 02-07-11

Terry Harrison (Brooklyn, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.  Harrison, a 6’5” junior forward for the Wells College Express, was selected for his strong offensive play leading his team to a 2-0 week in conference play.  Harrison finished the week with 48 points (24/game), 21 rebounds (10.5/game), 7 assists (3.5/game), 4 steals (2/game), 2-for-6 from three point range (0.333 percent), 12-for-14 from the foul line (0.857 percent) and 0.395 shooting percentage. Harrison receives this award for the third time this season.

 

 


Shakiyla Stone (Philadelphia, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.  Stone, a 5'3" junior guard for the Penn State Berks Nittany Lions was selected for her strong offensive performance leading her team to a 1-1 week in conference play.  She finished the week with 44 points (22/game), 7 rebounds (3.5/game), 10 assists (5/game), 8 steals (4/game), stone made 19 from the arc (.421 percent), had 6 from the foul line and a 0.366 shooting percentage.

 

 


Armand Tognan (Bayside, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for his three first place, one second, and one third place finishes for his SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers in their meet against SUNY Delhi.  Tognan, a freshman, finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:30.93, first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 7:13.71, and third in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 0:26.72.  Tognan teamed up for a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:12.13 and for a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:52.

 


Elizabeth Butler (Syracuse, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for her five first place finishes for herSUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers in their meet against SUNY Delhi. Butler, a junior, finished first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 0:29.16, first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:04.30, and first in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 1:13.68.  Butler teamed up for a first place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:26.96 and a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:03.31.
