NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week for 11-22-10
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week selections for the week ending Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s swimming & diving.
David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY) was selected as the
NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.
Golembiowski, a senior forward for the SUNY Institute
of Technology Wildcats, was selected for his strong
offensive play in a loss against non-conference opponent, Utica
College. Golembiowski scored 29 points, grabbed 10 rebounds
along with 2 blocked shots, 4-three point shots, a .440 shooting
percentage, and 3-free throws. Golembiowski begins his senior
season with a great start.
Ashley Roser (Taberg, NY) was selected as the NEAC
Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Roser, a
5’9” freshman forward for the Wells College
Express was selected for her strong offensive
performance despite the team’s three losses (0-2 in
conference play). She finished the week with 56 points (18.7/game),
35 rebounds (11.7/game), 6 steals (2/game). 10 blocks (3.3/game), a
.537 shooting percentage, and 11-for-20 from the free throw
line. Roser leads her team to their first NEAC season.
Daniel Schilling (Centerport, NY) was selected as the
NEAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week
for his three first place finishes in a dual meet against SUNY
Cobleskill. Schilling, a sophomore for the Wells
College Express, finished first in the 400 yard IM in
a time of 5:10.86, first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time
of 1:53.36, and first in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time
of 3:42.95. He helped his team win the dual match
59-26.
Gabby Spencer (Trumansburg, NY) was selected as the NEAC
Women’s Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for
her three first place finishes for her Wells College
Express in their dual meet loss to conference
opponent SUNY Cobleskill, with a score of 40-50. Spencer, a
freshman, finished first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of
0:26.37, first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:09.27,
and first in the 400 yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:23.02.
