NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week Selection For 12/21/09
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week selections for week ending Sunday, December 20, 2009 in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball.
DAVID GOLEMBIOWSKI (Barneveld, NY) was selected
as the NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.
Golembiowski, a forward for the SUNY Institute of
Technology Wildcats, was selected for his strong play
in a loss against non-conference opponent, SUNY Cortland. The
6’7” junior scored 15 points and grabbed a game-high 19
rebounds along with 4 blocked shots in the 78-61 loss. Golembiowski
leads the 6-2 Wildcats in points, rebounds, blocked shots, and
three-point field goals on the season.
CARA SCZEPANSKI (Highland Village, TX) was
selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of
the Week. Sczepanski, a 5’9” forward for the
University of Dallas Crusaders was
selected for her solid performances in two narrow defeats against
Rhodes College and Lawrence University over the past week. The
senior finished the week with 26 points (13/game), 13 rebound
(7.5/game), 6 steals (2/game), and 7 blocks (3.5/game). Sczepanski
leads her Crusaders in points, rebounds, and blocked shots on the
season.
