The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces
student-athlete of the week
selections for week ending Sunday, November 22, 2009 in the sports
of men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and
women’s swimming & diving.
DILOO BROWN (Harlem, NY) was selected as the NEAC
Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Brown, a
6’0” senior guard for the SUNY Institute of
Technology Wilcats, was selected for his outstanding
offensive performance for the week leading his team to a 2-0 week.
Brown finished the week with 43 points (21.5/game), 25 rebounds
(12.5/game), 15 assists (7.5/game), 3 Steals, 1 block, 11-for-19
from the free throw line (.579 from the line) and a .464 shooting
percentage. Brown was named the SUNYIT Wildcats tournament most
valuable player for his outstanding performance during the two
games of the tournament.
COLLEEN CLARKE (Johnson City, NY) was selected
as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.
Clarke, a 5’7” senior guard for the
Cazenovia College Wildcats, was selected
for her strong offensive performance for the week despite her
team’s two losses. Clarke finished the week with 52 points
(26/game), 10 rebound (5/game), 5 steals, 3 assist, 20-for-21 from
the free throw line (.952 from the line), and a .405 shooting
percentage. Clarke was selected to the all-tournament team for the
Rochester Institute of Technology tip-off tournament.
DREW TETER (Campbell, NY) was selected as the
NEAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week.
Teter, a sophomore for the Wells College
Express, was selected for his outstanding performance
for the week leading his team to a first place team finish with 375
points in the Donald Macomber Starting Block Classic with SUNY
Dehli and hosted by SUNY Cobleskill. Teter raced to two first place
individual finishes in the 100 freestyle in 54.78 and 500 freestyle
in 5:49.83 while leading the 200 freestyle relay team to a first
place finish in 1:43.46.
JACKIE ROSS (Rensselear, NY) was selected as the
NEAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the
Week. Ross, a junior for the Wells College
Express, was selected for her outstanding performance
for the week leading her team to a first place team finish with 477
points in the Donald Macomber Starting Block Classic with SUNY
Dehli and hosted by SUNY Cobleskill. Ross swam to three first place
individual finishes in the 100 freestyle in 1:01.77, 200 freestyle
in 2:19.66, and 500 freestyle in 6:14.32 while leading the 200
freestyle relay team to a first place finish in 2:00.79.
