NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week Selection for 01/19/10
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week selections for the week ending Sunday, January 17, 2010 in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball and women's swimming.
DARRELL BULLOCK (Chicago, IL) was selected as the
NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Bullock, a
senior guard for the Wells College
Express, led his team to a 2-0 week. He finished the
week with 48 points (24/game), 10 rebounds (5/game), 7 assists, 4
steals, 3-for-4 from beyond the arc (.750 percentage from 3-point
range), 11-for-14 from the charity stripe (.786 percentage from the
free throw line), and .586 shooting percentage. In the first game
this week against Green Mountain College, Bullock scored 29 points
with 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. In the second game against
NEAC opponent Penn State Berks, he added 19 points and 5 rebounds.
Bullock receives this award for the second time this season.
TAMARA WILLIAMS (Rome, NY) was selected as the
NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.
Williams, a junior center for the SUNY Institute of
Technology Wildcats, led her team to a 2-1 week. She
finished the week with 45 points (15/game), 48 rebounds (16/game),
4 assists, 2 steals, 5 blocks, 2-for-2 from beyond the arc (1.000
percentage from 3-point range), 3-for-10 from the charity stripe
(.300 percentage from the free throw line), and .541 shooting
percentage. In the first game this week against SUNY Canton,
Williams scored 15 points with 9 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals.
In the second game against NEAC opponent Cazenovia, she recorded a
SUNYIT record of 27 rebounds along with 24 points and 3 assists.
She finished the week with 6 points, 12 rebounds and 1 block
against College of St. Elizabeth.
KRISTIN KING (Dednville, NJ) was selected as the
NEAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the
Week. King, a freshman, led the College of St.
Elizabeth Screaming Eagles, led her team with three
first place, a second, and a third place individual finishes along
with a fifth place team relay finish. King's three first place
finishes were in a meet at the US Merchant Marine Academy in the
1000 freestyle with a time of 11:33.94, the 200 freestyle with a
time of 2:57.47, and the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:19.65.
In a meet with East Stroudsburg and Ramapo, she placed second in
the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:40.44 and 3rd in the 100
butterfly with a time of 1:10. She also contributed to a fifth
place finish in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:39.45.
