CHAMERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College baseball team played their first home game in program history this afternoon as they took on the Nittany Lions of Penn State Hazleton in a doubleheader. The Phoenix (6-4, 0-0 CSAC) defeated the Nittany Lions (1-9, 0-0 PSUAC) in both games with score of 11-2 and 11-4.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Phoenix men's volleyball team took the court at home for last time this season against the Express of Wells College in a NEAC match. The game was also the last time seniors Allen Bull (New Freedom, Pa., Susquehannock), Aaron Hoke (Chambersburg, Pa., Commonwealth Connections Academy), Evan Hoke (Chambersburg, Pa., Commonwealth Connections Academy) and Zachary McMaster (Gettysburg, Pa., New Oxford) would play in front of the Phoenix faithful. Wells (19-8, 4-3 NEAC) defeated the Phoenix (4-13, 1-6 NEAC) in straight sets with scores of 25-11, 25-21 and 25-19.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College men's volleyball team was in actinon this afternoon as they hosted a tri-match against the Wolves of Keuka College and the Nittany Lions of Penn State Altoona. The Phoenix were defeated by, North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe, the Wolves (12-9, 3-4 NEAC) three sets to none, by scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-18. Wilson also lost the second match of the day to the Nittany Lions (9-11, 2-6 AMCC) three sets to one, with score of 29-27, 25-16 in favor of the Phoenix, 25-20, and 25-22.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- Tomorrow's home softball doubleheader against Penn State Hazleton has been postponed due to field conditions from the recent rain. As of now there is no make-up date scheduled. The Phoenix are back-in-action on Thursday, March 28, against Penn State Harrisburg for a doubleheader set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Saturdays home softball double header, against Penn State Harrisburg, has been postponed. The games have been rescheduled for Thursday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The Phoenix will be in action this Sunday, March 24, where they will face Penn State Hazleton in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- Today's away baseball game against Christendom College has been postponed due to weather. A make-up date has yet to be determined. The Phoenix return to action this Sunday, at home versus Penn State Hazleton at 12:00 p.m.
CRESSON, Pa.- The Wilson College baseball team hit the road, for the third time in three days, to face off against the Mounties of Mount Aloysius College in a doubleheader this afternoon. The Mounties (11-4) defeated the Phoenix (4-4) in the first game, 6-4 off a walk-off homerun. The second game was just as exciting, but Wilson could not hang out and lost, 12-11, off another walk-off.
MONT ALTO, Pa.- For the second time in as many days the Wilson baseball team took on a member of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference, with a doubleheader today against the Lions of Penn State Mont Alto. The Phoenix split the series with the with their Franklin County counterparts, losing the first game 7-3 but bouncing back in the second to win 5-1. Wilson moves to 4-2 on the season while Mont Alto goes to 7-8 overall.
BUTLER, Pa.- The Phoenix baseball team took home their first sweep of the season today with two victories over Penn State Greater Allegheny in a non-conference doubleheader. Wilson racked up 11 hits in the first contest, coming from behind to defeat the Lions 7-4 and would come from behind once again in game two to win 6-4. With the wins the Phoenix move to 3-1 on the season while the Lions drop to 5-5.
AURORA, NY- The Wilson College men's volleyball team suffered a pair of losses earlier today as they journeyed to the campus of Wells College for a tri-match. The Phoenix (4-10, 1-4 NEAC) lost their first match to, North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe, The Express of Wells College (17-7, 3-2 NEAC) three sets to nil. They would also go on lose their second match to the Nittany Lions of Penn State Behrend (11-6, 5-2 AMCC), three sets to none.
