Phoenix Split With LionsMarch 18, 2019
MONT ALTO, Pa.- For the second time in as many days the Wilson baseball team took on a member of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference, with a doubleheader today against the Lions of Penn State Mont Alto. The Phoenix split the series with the with their Franklin County counterparts, losing the first game 7-3 but bouncing back in the second to win 5-1. Wilson moves to 4-2 on the season while Mont Alto goes to 7-8 overall.

BUTLER, Pa.- The Phoenix baseball team took home their first sweep of the season today with two victories over Penn State Greater Allegheny in a non-conference doubleheader. Wilson racked up 11 hits in the first contest, coming from behind to defeat the Lions 7-4 and would come from behind once again in game two to win 6-4. With the wins the Phoenix move to 3-1 on the season while the Lions drop to 5-5.

AURORA, NY- The Wilson College men's volleyball team suffered a pair of losses earlier today as they journeyed to the campus of Wells College for a tri-match. The Phoenix (4-10, 1-4 NEAC) lost their first match to, North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe, The Express of Wells College (17-7, 3-2 NEAC) three sets to nil. They would also go on lose their second match to the Nittany Lions of Penn State Behrend (11-6, 5-2 AMCC), three sets to none.

KEUKA PARK, NY- The Wilson College men's volleyball team hit the road to take on the Wolves of Keuka College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match. The Phoenix (4-8, 1-3 NEAC) were defeated by the Wolves (10-8, 2-3 NEAC) three sets to none with scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-16.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- Weather continues to plague baseball and softball early on this spring season. Due to field conditions, the Wilson College softball team will have their home opener delayed. A makeup date has not yet been determined. The Phoenix are set to host Penn State Harrisburg next Saturday, March 23, in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Phoenix softball team took on the Randolph College Wildcats this afternoon in a non-conference doubleheader. Wilson (0-3-1, 0-0 CSAC) dropped the first game to the Wildcats (9-4-1, 0-0 ODAC) 9-2 and tied in the second game with the game being called due to darkness.

The Phoenix (1-1, 0-0 CSAC) split the set of games with the Bison (5-7, 0-0 NEAC) and captured their first win in program history with a 9-2 game two victory.

The Phoenix (4-7, 1-2 NEAC) lost to the Blue Jays (7-14, 1-4 CVC) three sets to nil, with scores of 25-14, 25-23, 27-25, and to the Purple Raiders three sets to nil, with scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-15.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- Wilson College women's soccer is partnering with Shippensburg University to host an ID soccer clinic that is being held on Sunday, March 17. The clinic will be run by Shippensburg head women's soccer coach Rob Fulton and the Phoenix women's soccer coach, Zak Kruger.
