North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week ending Sunday, April 27, 2008 in the sports of men's golf, men's baseball, and women's softball.

Chad Salls (Little Falls, NY) was selected as the NEAC Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week.  Salls, a junior shortstop for Cazenovia College Wildcats, was selected for his outstanding work at the plate, in the field, and on the mound.  Salls helped to lead his team to a 5-0 week overall (4-0 in conference play) with a .722 batting average, 13 hits for 18 at-bats, 8 runs, 1 double, 1 triple, 4 homeruns, 15 RBIs, a 1.556 slugging percentage, 1 walk, 2-for-2 stolen bases, and a .737 on-base percentage.  In the field, Salls had 2 putouts, 12 assists, and 1 error for a .933 fielding percentage for the week.  On the mound, Salls had 1 game appearance with 1 save, allowed 0 runs, 0 earned runs, held his opponents to a .000 batting average, while striking out 3 and an ERA of 0.000.  Salls led the Wildcats in four crucial conference games this week going 4 hits for 4 at-bats with 3 RBIs and 2 runs in game two versus D’Youville and went 3 hits for 4 at-bats with 5 RBIs, 2 runs and 2 homeruns in a win over Hilbert College.
Mary Lynn Arlotta (North Tonawanda, NY) was selected as the NEAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week. Arlotta, a senior pitcher for D’Youville College Spartans, was selected for her outstanding work at the plate, in the field, and on the mound this week helping lead her team to a 4-0 conference record on the week.  At bat, Arlotta finished the week with a .560 batting average, 14 hits for 25 at-bats, 10 runs, 3 doubles, 3 triples, 6 RBIs, a .920 slugging percentage, 2 walks, 7-for-7 stolen bases, and a .607 on-base percentage.  In the field, Arlotta had 5 putouts, 11 assists, and 1 error for a .941 fielding percentage for the week.  On the mound, Arlotta recorded a 6-1 week with 7 game appearances and 6 game starts, allowed 27 runs, 17 earned runs, with 39 strikeouts and holding her opponents to a .243 batting average.  Arlotta threw her second career no-hitter as well as tying the single season school win record and set a new team single season record for innings pitcher (27) and completed games (24).
Renee Korb (Pottstown, PA) was selected as the NEAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week. Korb, a sophomore pitcher for Baptist Bible College Defenders, was selected for her outstanding work at the plate, in the field, and on the mound this week helping lead her team to a 4-2 conference record on the week.  At bat, Korb finished the week with a .500 batting average, 9 hits for 18 at-bats, 9 runs, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homerun, 9 RBIs, a 1.000 slugging percentage, 1 walk, 2 stolen bases, and a .550 on-base percentage.  In the field, Korb had 2 putout, 10 assists, and 0 errors for a 1.000 fielding percentage for the week.  On the mound, Korb recorded a 2-1 week with 3 game appearances and 3 game starts, allowed 4 runs, 4 earned runs, with 12 strikeouts and holding her opponents to a .167 batting average. Korb had two shutouts on the mound this week including a no-hitter versus Penn State – Berks.
