North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week ending Sunday, April 13, 2008 in the sports of men's golf, men's baseball and women's softball.

Nick Reed (Pine Grove, PA) was selected as the NEAC Golf Student-Athlete of the Week for Penn State – Harrisburg Nittany LionsReed, a junior, led Penn State – Harrisburg to a 1-0 record on the week.  Reed contributed to the school record score of 314 in a quad-match at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course defeating Elizabethtown (327), Philadelphia Biblical (337), and Penn State – Mont Alto (345) as well as setting an individual school records of 76 on the par-72 course which was good for medalist honors, a first for Penn State – Harrisburg.
Adam Coglitore (Syracuse, NY) was selected as the NEAC Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week. Coglitore, a junior outfielder for Cazenovia College Wildcats, was selected for his outstanding work at the plate and in the field. Coglitore helped to lead his team to a 4-0 week overall and 2-0 in the conference with a .538 batting average, 7 hits for 13 at-bats, 7 runs, 3 doubles, 2 homeruns, 9 RBIs, a 1.231 slugging percentage, 2 walks, 1 sacrifice fly, and a .611 on-base percentage.  In the field, Coglitore had 8 putouts and 2 errors for a .800 fielding percentage for the week. This week Coglitore had 2 hits for 3 at-bats with 3 runs, 2 RBIs and a homerun in Cazenovia’s game one win over Keuka College. Coglitore also posted 3 multi-hit games and 4 multi-RBI games this week.
Jen Shaughnessy (LeRoy, NY) was selected as the NEAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week. Shaughnessy, a senior pitcher/designated hitter for Keuka College Storm, was selected for her outstanding work on the mound, at the plate, and in the field this week helping lead her team to a 2-0 conference record on the week. At bat, Shaughnessy finished the week with a .556 batting average, 5 hits for 9 at-bats, 2 runs, 1 homerun, 4 RBIs, a .889 slugging percentage, and a .556 on-base percentage. In the field, Shaughnessy had 1 putout, 5 assists and 0 errors for a 1.000 fielding percentage for the week. On the mound, Shaughnessy recorded a 1-0 week with 1 game appearance and 1 game start. Shaughnessy allowed 0 runs, 0 earned runs, 4 strikeouts while holding her opponents to a .207 batting average. Shaughnessy pitched a complete game shutout this week in game one against Cazenovia College while going 4 hits for 5 at-bats with 2 run, 3 RBIs and her first homerun of the season in game two. Shaughnessy is still a perfect 4-0 on the mound without letting in a single run and striking out more then a batter per inning (24 strikeouts in 23 innings).
