North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week ending Sunday, March 31, 2008 in the sports of men's baseball, women's softball and men's golf.

Mike Perrone (Valley Stream, NY) was selected as the NEAC Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week. Perrone, a senior first baseman for Keuka College, was selected for his outstanding work at the plate and in the field helping to lead his team to a 1-1 conference record on the week. At bat, Perrone finished the week with a .432 batting average, 16 hits for 37 at-bats, 4 runs, 2 doubles, 4 RBIs, a .486 slugging percentage, 5 walks and a .500 on-base percentage.  In the field, Perrone had 97 putouts, 3 assists and 0 errors for a 1.000 fielding percentage for the week. Perrone lead his team in batting while tallying 16 hits in 12 games. Perrone hit in 10 out of the 12 games with one 4-hit game and one 3-hit game.
Brad Swavely (Reading, PA) was selected as the NEAC Baseball Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week. Swavely, a sophomore pitcher for Penn State University - Berks, was selected for his outstanding work on the mound. In the field, Swavely had 1 putout, 1 assists and 0 errors for a 1.000 fielding percentage. On the mound, Swavely recorded a 1-0 week with 2 game appearances and 2 game starts. Swavely allowed 1 run, 0 earned runs, held opponents to a .166 batting average, while striking out 5 and an ERA of 0.00. Swavely helped lead his team to their first conference win of the season pitching 6 scoreless innings, allowing just 4 hits and giving up 1 walk for the week.
Deanna Foose (Hamburg, NY) was selected as the NEAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week. Foose, a junior shortstop for D’Youville College, was selected for her outstanding work at the plate and in the field this week helping lead her team to a 3-1 conference record on the week. At bat, Foose finished the week with a .551 batting average, 16 hits for 29 at-bats, 10 runs, 2 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs, 12 RBIs, a 1.138 slugging percentage, 1 walk and a .633 on-base percentage. Foose went 12 hits for 15 at bats in the first two conference games of the season along with 2 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and scoring 7 runs.
Mike McConkey (Scotia, NY) was selected as the NEAC Golf Student-Athlete of the Week.  McConkey, a senior for Keystone College helped led his team this week when he carded a 77 at the Dickinson Spring Invitational where he tied for second with a 70 leading his team to a third place finish. McConkey went on the following day carding an 89 at the Gettysburg Spring Invitational, tying for 46th and helping his team take ninth place overall.
