Student-Athlete of the Week Selections

Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week ending Sunday, March 9, 2008 in the sports of men's baseball and women's softball.

Sean Frailey (Middletown, PA) was selected as the NEAC Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week. Frailey, a senior first baseman for Penn State University – Harrisburg, was selected for his outstanding work at the plate and in the field leading his team to a 2-2 record on the week. At bat, Frailey finished the week with a .462 batting average, 6 hits for 13 at-bats, 4 runs, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 10 RBIs, a 1.077 slugging percentage and a .462 on-base percentage. In the field, Frailey had 28 putouts, 2 assists and 0 errors for a 1.000 fielding percentage for the week. Frailey finished one contest this week going 3-for-4 at bat with 2 home runs which included a game winning grand slam. He also added 7 RBIs and 8 putouts.

Megan Thomas (Clarks Summit, PA) was selected as the NEAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week. Thomas, a junior catcher for Keystone College, was selected for her outstanding work at the plate and in the field this week. Despite the team’s losses, Thomas finished the week with a .400 batting average, 4 hits for 10 at-bats, 3 runs, 1 home run, 2 RBIs, a .700 slugging percentage, 1 walk and a .455 on-base percentage. In the field, Thomas had 8 putouts, 5 assists, and 1 error for a .929 fielding percentage. Thomas led her team in hitting and fielding during this week’s five contests.
