Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North
Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week ending Sunday, February 17, 2008 in the sports of men's and women's basketball.

Charles Walker (Buffalo, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Walker, a 6’3” junior forward for D’Youville College, was selected for his outstanding offensive and defensive performance for the week leading his team to a 1-1 week in conference play. Walker finished the week with 45 points (22.5/game), 20 rebounds (10/game), 8 assists (4/game), 4 steals, 7-for-8 from the free throw line (.875 from the line), and a .576 shooting percentage. Walker had a great all around week netting 29 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in the game with Cazenovia. He had an additional 16 points and 7 rebounds in the win versus Philadelphia Biblical University. Walker receives this award for the third time this season.

Christine Halter(Holley, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Halter, a 6’4” junior center for D’Youville College was selected for her strong offensive and defensive performance for the week leading her team to a 2-0 week in conference play. Halter finished the week with 36 points (18/game), 15 rebounds (7.5/game), 1 steal, 2 blocks, 8-for-11 from the free throw line (.727 from the line), and a .636 shooting percentage. Halter started the week with her 10th double-double this season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Later in the week, Halter recorded her 1000th career point on February 16th versus Philadelphia Biblical University with an 18 point game with only 18 minutes of play. Halter receives this award for the third time this season.
