Student-Athlete of the Week Selections

Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week ending Sunday, January 13, 2008 in the sports of men's and women's basketball.

Forest Woodley (Seatle, WA) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Woodley, a 6’6” senior forward for the Keuka College Storm, was selected for his outstanding offensive and defensive performance for the week. Despite the team’s losses, Woodley finished the week with 41 points (10.3/game), 27 rebounds (6.8/game), 3 assists, 5 steals, 14-for-18 from the free throw line (.780 from the line), and a .450 shooting percentage. Woodley’s performance was highlighted in two games with a 19 point – 9 rebound game and later with a 14 point – 8 rebound game.

Courtney Bailey (Harrisburg, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Bailey, a 5’11” sophomore center for the Penn State University - Berks, was selected for her strong offensive and defensive performance for the week leading her team to a 1-1 week in conference play. Bailey finished the week with 36 points (18/game), 42 rebounds (21/game), 6 steals, 2 blocks, 1 assists, 10-for-16 from the free throw line (.625 from the line), and a .464 shooting percentage. Bailey had two impressive games; the first she put up 20 points while grabbing 27 rebounds and the second with 16 points and 15 rebounds while only playing the first half of the game.
