North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week selections for the three weeks from December 18 through Sunday, January 6, 2008 in the sports of men's and women's basketball.

Charles Walker (Buffalo, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.  Walker, a 6’3” junior forward for the D’Youville College Spartans, was selected for his outstanding offensive and defensive performance for the week leading his team to a 1-1 week (0-1 in conference play).  Walker finished the week with 49 points (24.5/game), 14 rebounds (7/game), 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 block, 12-for-17 from the free throw line (.706 from the line), and a .514 shooting percentage.  Walker performed very well in both the team’s games; in the first he scored 23 points with 18 in the second half including 6 straight free-throws to close the game leading the team to a 81-76 win.  In the second game, Walker had 26 points with 9 rebounds. Walker receives this award for the second time this season.
Christine Halter (Holley, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.  Halter, a 6’4” junior center for the D’Youville College Spartans, was selected for her strong offensive and defensive performance for the week leading her team to a 2-0 week (1-0 in conference play).  Halter finished the week with 40 points (20/game), 23 rebounds (11.5/game), 7 blocks, 1 assists, 4-for-4 from the free throw line (1.000 from the line), and a .600 shooting percentage.  Halter had two impressive games with 14 points and 14 rebounds, followed by 26 points and 9 rebounds in the team’s two games this week. Halter receives this award for the second time this season.
