North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces player-of-the-week selections for week ending Sunday, October 28, 2007 in the sports of men's and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball.

Rachel Placito (Greece, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for her offensive performance for the D’Youville College Spartans.  Placito, a senior midfielder, had 6 of the teams 8 goals, and 5 assist leading her team to a 1-0 week over Penn- State Harrisburg.  Placito helped D’Youville in the conference this week with a need to win to qualify for the NEAC Tournament.  She has set a new single-game career-high with seven points, while adding a school single-game record 5 assists.
Mike Meskill (Trumansburg, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance for the Keuka College Storm.  Meskill, a sophomore goal keeper, lead his team to a 1-0 week in conference play with a total of 10 saves, 5 in each half.  He also picked up his 4th shutout of the season, with a career total of 13 shutouts as only a sophomore.
Jackie Kirby Becky Williams (Maple Valley, WA), a senior captain, was selected as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance for the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles. Williams finished the week playing a total of 18 games with 62 kills in 169 attempts (3.44kills/game), 68 digs (3.77/game), 9 aces (.5/game) 3 assists (.167/game), 3 blocks (1.5/game), and 4.528 points per game, leading her team to a 2-2 week. Williams helped pilot her team to capture their first ever NCCAA Regional title by defeating Valley Forge Christian College.  She has demonstrated the kind of versatility player she can be as a middle hitter.
