North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces player-of-the-week selections for week ending Sunday, October 21, 2007 in the sports of men's and women’s cross country, men's golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women's tennis, and women’s volleyball.

Naomi Metzler (Allenwood, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Cross Country Student-Athletes of the week for her 7th place of 51 finishers at the 5K – Nevins Invitational, East Stroudsburg, PA with a time of 21:06, a 6:47 per mile pace.  Metzler is a junior for the Baptist Bible College Defenders whose team finished 4th out of 6 teams with a total of 108 team points.Metzler improved last season’s time on this course by 36 seconds and finished 25 runners higher. Metzler receives this award for the second time this season.
Rob Ahrens (Newbury, OH) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Cross Country Student-Athletes of the week for his 6th place of 65 finishers at the 5K – Nevins Invitational, East Stroudsburg, PA with a time of 17:06, a 5:30 per mile pace.  Ahrens is a junior for the Baptist Bible College whose team finished 4th out of 8 teams with a total of 123 team points.  Ahrens improved last season’s time on this course by 26 seconds and finished 20 runners higher.  Ahrens receives this award for the second time this season.
Jackie Kirby Alyssa Hermenet (Williamson, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for her offensive performance for the Keuka College Storm.  Hermenet, a freshman forward, had a total of 10 shots, 1 goal, and 1assist leading her team to a 2-1 week (2-0 in conference play).  Hermenet helped Keuka in both conference wins this week with one assist in the 2OT game against Baptist Bible.  She scored the game winning goal against Philadelphia Biblical.  As a freshman, Hermenet has an impressive 11 goals in 13 games with team leading 4 game-winning goals.
Scott Andrzejewski Andrew Geib (Harrisburg, PA) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance this week.  Geib is a junior goalie for the Penn State Harrisburg Nittany Lions.  Geib had a total of 19 saves, 1 goal against, 1 shutout, and a .5 goal against average leading his team to a 1-0-1 week in conference play.  He had 14 saves in the first conference game helping to preserve a 1-1 tie and followed that with a shut-out in a 1-0 conference win. 
Derek Mosely (Newport News, VA) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance this week.  Mosely is a senior forward for the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagle.  Mosley had a total of 13 shots and 2 goals leading his team to a 1-0-1 week in conference play.  Mosley has been a key player for the Crimson Eagles all season and leads the team with 35 points and 15 goals.
Scott Andrzejewski Kay Lynn Zeiset (Akron, PA), a sophomore libero, was selected as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance for the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles.  Zeiset finished the week playing a total of 14 games with 77 digs (5.5/game), 6 assists (.429/game), and 6 aces (.429/game) leading her team to a 2-2 week (2-0 in conference play).  Zeiset continues to be the main defensive catalyst for the Crimson Eagles and leads the team in digs per game with 3.81 for the season.
