Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces player-of-the-week selections
for week ending Sunday, October 14, 2007 in the sports of men's and women’s cross country,
men's golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women's tennis, and women’s volleyball.

Jackie Kirby (Hawley, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the week for her performances this week. Jackie Kirby finished in 2nd place of 133 finishers at the 5K – Cabrini College Invitational with a time of 19:33, a 6:17 per mile pace. Kirby is a junior for the Keystone College Giants whose team finished 6th out of 23 teams with a total of 153 team points.Kirby has continued her impressive campaign by finishing the race as the first DIII runner. Kirby has only been beaten once this season by another DIII runner. She received this award for the third time this season. |

Naomi Metzler (Allenwood, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the week for her performances this week. Naomi Metzler finished in 2nd place of 26 finishers at the 5K – Baptist Bible College Invitational with a time of 21:38, a 6:57 per mile pace. Metzler is a junior for the Baptist Bible College Defenders whose team finished 1st out of 6 teams with a total of 30 team points.Metzler had her best finish of the season and improved her time by 10 seconds from three weeks ago on the same course. |

Eric Shotto (Olyphant, PA) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Cross Country Student-Athletes of the week for his 19th place of 159 finishers at the 8K – Cabrini College Invitational with a time of 28:05, a 5:38 per mile pace. Shotto is a sophomore for the Keystone College Giants whose team finished 6th out of 23 teams with a total of 166 team points.Shotto has continued to improve this season and led his team with a top-20 finish. Shotto receives this award for the second time this season. |

Sean Misstishin (Ashland, PA) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the week for his outstanding performance for the Keystone College Giants. Misstishin shot one under par 70 which was good for 1st place out of 84 finishers at the Bent Creek Invitational hosted by Franklin and Marshall College. He led his team to a 6th place overall finish with a team score of 317. Misstishin followed this performance with a tie for 41st place at the Gettysburg College Invitational at the Links at Gettysburg carding an 85 on the par 72 course. He led his team to a 4th place finish with a total team score of 317. Misstishin receives this award for the second time this season. |

Kelli Brago (Watsontown, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for her offensive performance for the Keystone College Giants. Brago, a senior midfielder, had a total of 7 shots and 2 goals leading her team to a 1-0 week in conference play. Brago scored twice in four minutes in the second half to defeat conference rival Wells on Keystone’s homecoming day. Brago receives this award for the second time this season. |

Sammi Hall (Lancaster, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Tennis Student-Athletes of the Week for her performances this week. Sammi Hall, a freshman, led the Penn State Harrisburg Nittany Lions winning both her flight #4 singles and flight #2 doubles matches this week in conference play. In singles, she finished with scores of 6-3, 6-0 and 6-2, 7-5 while in doubles she finished with scores of 9-8 and 8-5 against Philadelphia Biblical and Keuka respectively. |

Megan McGowan (Batavia, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for her performances this week. Megan McGowan, a freshman, led the Keuka College Storm winning both her flight #1 singles and doubles matches this week in conference play. In singles, she finished with scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1 while in doubles she finished with scores of 8-0 and 8-3 against Philadelphia Biblical and Penn State Harrisburg respectively. |

Jen Shaughnessy (LeRoy, NY), a senior middle hitter, was selected as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance for the Keuka College Storm. Shaughnessy finished the week playing a total of 14 games, with 55 kills in 109 attempts with 7 errors (3.9 kills/game), 11 digs (.79/game), 19 total blocks (1.4/game), and 4.9 points per game. Despite her team’s weekly record of 0-4, Shaughnessy led her team offensively with games of 10, 13, 9, and 23 kills; the 23 kills were a career high for a single game. Her attack percentage was an excellent .440 while averaging 4.9 points per game. Her efforts were rewarded with her Smith College All-Tournament Team recognition. Shaughnessy receives this award for the third time this season. |
