Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North
Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces player-of-the-week selections
for week ending Sunday, September 16, 2007 in the sports of men's and women’s cross country,
men's golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women's tennis, and women’s volleyball.

Rob Ahrens (Newbury, OH) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week for his 3rd place of 110 finishers at the 8K – 23rd Annual Baptist Bible College Invitational with a time of 27:55.91, a 5:36 per mile pace. Ahrens is a junior for the Baptist Bible College Defenders whose team placed 7th of 12. Ahrens continues to improve; improving his time by one minute fourteen seconds over last year’s performance on the same course. |

Jackie Kirby (Hawley, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the week for her 1st place of 97 finishers at the 5K – 23rd Annual Baptist Bible College Invitational with a time of 19:28, a 6:15 per mile pace, nearly a full minute ahead of the second place finisher. Kirby is a junior for the Keystone College Giants whose team finished 3rd of 12.Kirbyhas captured two individual titles along with a second place finish behind a DII runner in her first three outings of the year; a fantastic start by all accounts. |

Mike McConkey (Scotia, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the week for his outstanding performance for the Keystone College Giants. McConkey shot a 2-day total of 144 (75, 69) which was good for fourth place at the Tim Brown Invitational at Saratoga Spa State Park. With the 144 total, McConkey finished even par for the tournament and just two strokes out of first place for the event. He helped led the Giants to a 7th of 14 team finish with a team score of 621. |

Andrew Siwale (Lusaka, Zambia) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for his strong offensive performance for the Keystone College Giants. Siwale, a sophomore forward, lead his team to a 2-0 week in conference play with a total of 4 shots and 3 goals on the week. Siwale score one goal in the 3-2 NEAC victory over Baptist Bible and both goals in the 2-1 NEAC victory over Keuka. The win over Keuka was Keystone’s first win against Keuka in the rivalry with both teams. |

Nicole Bondellio (Watkins Glen, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for her offensive performance for the Keuka College Storm. Bondellio, a senior forward, had a total of 8 shots, 1 goal, and 3 assists for the week leading her team to a 1-0 week in conference play. She recorded her second straight 5-point game which also gave her 105 points for her career, a new Keuka record. Bondellio is all Keuka’s all-time leader in assists with 35. |

Shiloh Richner (Honesdale, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance for the Keystone College Giants. Richner, a senior, won both her singles and doubles matches at the #1 flight. IN singles she finished with a score of 6-0, 6-2 while in doubles she finished with a score of 8-1. Richner’s performance led the team to their first victory of the season versus NEAC opponent Penn State Harrisburg. |

Lorraine Lepere (Niagara Falls, Ontario), a senior libero, was selected as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for her outstanding defensive performance on the volleyball court for the D’Youville College Spartans. Lepere finished the week playing a total of 19 games, with 152 digs (8/game), 3 kills in 27 attempts, and 3 aces. Lepere recorded her 1,084 career dig, setting a new school record. She followed that with another stellar performance recording the second highest single-match dig total with 45. Lepere was named to the North Park (IL) Invitational All-Tournament team. |
