North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
GANSVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces player-of-the-week selections for week ending Sunday, September 9, 2007 in the sports of men's and women’s cross country, men's golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women's tennis, and women’s volleyball.

Jared Wilcox (Falmouth, ME) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week for his 24th place of 150 finishers at the 8K Delaware Valley College Invitational with a time of 29:42.  In his second event of the week, he finished 13th place of 101 finishers at the Vassar Invitational with a time of 30:26.  Wilcox is a sophomore for the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles whose team placed 13th of 19 and 6th of 11 teams respectively.  Wilcox led a first-year team in his first two collegiate races to respectable finishes.

Jenni Reifsnyder (Wernersville, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the week for her 21st place of 100 finishers at the 6K Delaware Valley College Invitational with a time of 26:53.  In her second event of the week, she finished 14th place of 124 finishers at the 5K Vassar Invitational with a time of 21:03.  Reifsnyder is a sophomore for the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles.  Reifsnyder began her first week of collegiate competition with two very successful outings.

Jackie Kirby Justin Viele (Rochester, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for his defensive performance for the Keuka College StormViele, a junior defenseman, allowed 16 shots, but 5 of those were on goal.  The Storm’s defense allowed just 3 shots on goal against Alfred in 110 minutes (double OT), and just 2 shots in a 2-0 win over Pitt-Bradford.  Viele has led his team to a 0-0 NEAC Record and a 1-1-1 Overall Record.

Scott Andrzejewski Amy Dziomba (North Tonawanda, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for her offensive performance for the D’Youville College Spartans.  Dziomba, a senior forward, had a total of 13 shots, scored 5 goals against Keystone College, and opened the week scoring 2 goals against Hilbert College.  Dziomba has led her team to a 1-0 NEAC Record and a 1-1 Overall Record.

Owen Williams (Neversink, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the week for his outstanding performance for the D’Youville College Spartans.  Williams shot a team best of 87 at the Daemen College Invitational at Gowanda Country Club.

Jen Shaughnessy (LeRoy, NY), a senior middle hitter, was selected as the NEAC Women’s Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance on the volleyball court helping the Keuka College Storm to a 5-2 week.  Shaughnessy finished the week playing a total of 27 games, with 80 kills in 196 attempts (2.96 kills/game), 3 aces, 11 digs (.4/game), 44 total block (1.63/game), and averaging 4.04 points per game.  Shaughnessy was named to the D’Youville College Tournament All-Tournament team.
