North Eastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Selections
BALLSTON SPA, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week selections for the week ending Sunday, February 4, 2007 in the sports of men's and women's basketball and men's volleyball.

Warren Walters (Croton, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Walters, a 6’1” senior center for the Purchase College Panthers, was selected for his outstanding offensive performance, despite the team’s 0-2 record for the week in conference play. Walters finished the week with 46 points (23.0/game), 15 rebounds (7.5/game), 1assist, 1steal, was 12-for-14 from the foul line, and had a .74 shooting percentage. Walters wins this award for the second time this season.

Jessica Kobesky (Dickson Valley, PA) was selected as the NEAC Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Kobesky, a 5’8” sophomore forward for the Keystone College Giants, was selected for her strong offensive performance leading her team to a 1-1 record for the week in conference play. Kobesky finished the week with 35 points (17.5.0/game), 13 rebounds (6.5/game), 2 assists, 1steal, 3 blocks, 5-for-8 from the free throw line, and a .54 shooting percentage. In both games this week, Kobesky recorded team highs for the Giants.
Steven Alday (Phoenix, AZ), a freshman setter, was selected as the NEAC Men’s Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance on the volleyball court for the Bard College Raptors.  Alday finished the weekend playing a total of 12 games, with 155 assists, leading the team to a hitting percentage of .28, 2 kills in 3 attempts, 6 digs, 4 aces, 1 total block, and a total of .54 points per game. Alday set a new Bard College record for the number of assists in a 5 game match.
